Sadio Mane, the Senegalese international forward for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, has suffered a setback with another injury.
The 29-year-old forward sustained a knee injury during training earlier this week that required surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The surgery was successful, but Mane will now be out for at least six months, according to reports from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
This is not the first time that Mane has been injured while playing for Al-Nassr. In January, he suffered a broken ankle and missed three games due to the injury.
Mane is one of the most talented forwards in world football,Campeonato Brasileiro Glamour having won several major trophies with Liverpool and Bayern Munich. He has also played for Senegal at the highest level of international football.
The news of Mane's injury comes as a blow for Al-Nassr, who have struggled to find goals this season. They currently sit bottom of the Saudi Professional League table with just four points from their first seven matches.
Despite the setback, Al-Nassr remain hopeful that Mane will make a full recovery and return to action as soon as possible. However, it remains to be seen how long this will take and whether they can find a replacement for him until he returns to fitness.
In the meantime, the team will need to rely on other players to step up and provide goals and assists if they hope to avoid relegation. It will be a tough task, but Al-Nassr will undoubtedly be working hard to improve their performance in the coming weeks and months.
